Furry Creek is a community in West Vancouver, located on Howe Sound in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, south of Squamish. It is a quiet, and breathtaking neighborhood that is popular amongst retirees. Furry Creek residents enjoy living in a mountainside paradise that’s an easy drive from Vancouver and Whistler. The creek was named in the 1870s after early prospector and settler Oliver Furry. Loggers worked the slopes, and two adits from the Britannia Creek mine opened into Furry Creek where a logging camp supplied timbers for mine shoring in the early 1900s. Furry Creek boasts an internationally renowned golf course, world-class recreational destinations just minutes away, and a very tasteful recreational-resort character in its community plan. Lions Bay Elementary, Howe Sound Secondary, and Rockridge Secondary are all highly-regarded schools located in the picturesque coastal community of West Vancouver.

One potential con of living in Furry Creek, West Vancouver is the limited access to amenities and services, as the area is relatively rural and secluded. Another con may be the cost of living, as real estate prices in West Vancouver tend to be higher than in other areas.
