Upper Delbrook

Upper Delbrook

Upper Delbrook is a neighbourhood that is just north of Delbrook and sits in between Forest Hills and Upper Lonsdale. Upper Delbrook is considered a separate neighbourhood east of Mosquito Creek. It is home to many mid-century post-and-beam houses built in the 1950s and 1960s, some of which are now being restored thanks to a resurgence in all things mid-century modern. You will find that almost all of the residents here are detached houses. This neighbourhood sits right at the base of Mount Froome and is one of the furthest north areas in North Vancouver. Its close proximity to the mountain creates a calm, peaceful environment. With access to many outdoor activities, it is an ideal place for many families to raise their children. The Upper Delbrook area is sought after for its quiet cul-de-sacs, breathtaking city views and close proximity to amenities. Many of these homes are built to ensure maximum views of the ocean & Vancouver. With over 15 cul-de-sacs this neighbourhood lends itself to families looking for a safe place for their kids to ride their bike and play street hockey.

Transit and Walkability

Delbrook is one big hill, so travelling by foot could be exhausting for some. The bus system does run up and down Delbrook Avenue but does not travel into the streets that branch off of the main road. You are Downtown in 20 minutes, 12 minutes to Park Royal Centre, and 45 minutes to the airport.

School

Braemar Elementary and Handsworth Secondary are two distinguished educational institutions that provide students with a comprehensive education from grades K to 12.

Cons

Upper and Lower Delbrook detached home prices rival that of canyons detached prices (expensive). Upper Delbrook homes tend to have steeper driveways and also are one of the first to get snowfall in winter.
