Northlands
Northlands
Quiet winding streets, cul-du-sacs, parks, and golf courses. Am I missing something? Probably! Northlands is located on the North of Mount Seymour Parkway, just East of Deep Cove When you think Northlands, think tudor custom built homes with almost a Whistler westcoast inspired influence sounds yummy lol. It is an expansive area comprising mostly Mount Seymour Provincial Park and the Mount Seymour ski hill. In 2003, the district of North Vancouver opened up a large street for development named Anne MacDonald Way. Large 3 level executive homes now occupy this exclusive area which is conveniently located at the entrance of Northlands Golf Course. Other homes in the area include large apartments favoured by seniors and some townhouse complexes.

There is no shortage of amenities within these neighbourhoods. Because so much of this area is residential homes, over the years the district has made a point to build and maintain amenities that are close by for everyone. Blueridge and Windsor Park are home to Ron Andrews Rec Centre. Here you have an Olympic-sized pool, full weight room, squash & racquetball courts, and more. There are parks scattered throughout these neighbourhoods along with trails connecting you to other streets. Northlands residents enjoy many amenities within walking distance of their homes. There is a library, community center, and more at Parkgate Shopping Centre.
Transit and Walkability
Your driving time downtown is 20 min, 25 min to Park Royal Centre, and 45 min to YVR. A bus runs all along the parkway which brings you straight to Capilano University or Phibbs Bus Exchange which connects you to the whole rest of Greater Vancouver.
School
Blueridge and Seymour Heights Elementary, as well as Dorothy Lynas French Immersion, feed into Windsor Secondary (grade 8-12), which offers a comprehensive education program with a strong emphasis on both academics and extracurricular activities.
Cons
Its separation from North Vancouver's and downtown Vancouver's economic districts could mean longer commute times for people who live or work there. Furthermore, Northlands is mostly a residential area with few food and shopping opportunities, which might not be ideal for everyone. Additionally, the neighbourhood is situated in a mountainous location, which might be difficult for people who have mobility problems or other disabilities.
